The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth is seeking an experienced housekeeping professional to fill the role of Housekeeping Supervisor.

The Housekeeping Supervisor is an integral part of our guest experience team, through delivery of quality accommodation and engaged service to all of our guests.
The role involves a strong knowledge of housekeeping practices and processes, a commitment to upholding Brand, property and company standards and the ability to work well with a broad and diverse team.

3+ Years experience in a Hotel setting an asset. Experience working within a unionized environment is considered a strong asset.

Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Leading by example, ensure team members commitment to and engagement with Hilton CleanStay initiatives and other health and safety practices, to ensure the health and safety of all who enter into the hotel.
  • Thoroughly inspect rooms, public areas and back of house areas as assigned or required, for cleanliness and condition, disinfection and Brand / property standards.
  • Coach team members on cleaning practices, processes, methods as needed and required, to optimize efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Submit daily inspection and progress reports to Housekeeping Management.
  • Report all condition deficiencies and required repairs to Maintenance Management.
  • Assist with team member orientation and training within the department as required.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively with Front Desk and Maintenance Departments regarding the status of rooms, room discrepancies, and general room readiness.
  • Actively contribute to a positive and engaged team culture, strong departmental / inter-departmental communication, and an exemplary experience for our guests.
  • Work with Housekeeping Management to develop and maintain standards in compliance with Departmental, Brand and property policies, procedures and practices.
  • Thoroughly clean and disinfect guestrooms when required.
  • Lead and perform when needed, routine deep cleaning tasks and projects.
  • Manage guest requests in a professional, timely and efficient manner
  • Go above and beyond to “WOW” our guests with empowerment to address guest dissatisfaction
  • Assist in maintaining adequate level of supplies, amenities and request replenishment as required.
  • Assist in conducting inventories of linen, terry and other supplies as needed.
  • Strictly adhere to Hotel, Ownership and Brand policies pertaining to Lost and Found items, Linen and Inventory Control, Supplies Management and discarding of product
  • Strictly adhere to WHMS, Occupational Health and Safety and Emergency Procedures at the Hotel to ensure guest and team member safety.
  • Assist in other areas of the Housekeeping Department as may be required.
  • Other duties as required or assigned
