Title:                                 Food and Beverage Server / Bartender
 
Mission:                           To supply superior service to all guests, through attention to detail and accepting and serving Food and Beverage orders and anticipating needs to ensure all guest expectations are exceeded to encourage repeat visitation .
 
Responsible to:   Food & Beverage Manager
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
 
  1. To provide personal recognition to all arriving and departing guests, acknowledging return guests, using guest names, pacing meals according to expectations and ensuring guest satisfaction with the dining experience.
 
To obtain a complete knowledge of all menu items, ingredients and preparation techniques to accept and fill orders for a la carte food items, pre-set meals, premium cocktails and wine orders. 

To continually develop an understanding of wine and food pairing and display confidence when providing suggestions to a guest 

To maximize efficiency through planning and preparing for each meal period, including the maintenance of uniform, service equipment, china glass and cutlery, linen, condiments, work stations, bread stations, butters, coffee supply, table setting, special seating preparation and knowledge of out-of-stock items and daily specials. 

To ensure guest satisfaction by communicating to Kitchen personnel the pacing expectations of the guest, specific variations to menu items and through monitoring food quality and communicating inconsistencies. 

To maximize food and beverage revenues through the suggestive selling of items, with special attention to alcoholic beverages, appetizers and desserts. 

To effiecently operate the P.O.S. system to communicate seat numbers, table numbers, place orders, maintain guest checks, process corrections and settlements. 

To bus, crumb, clean and re-set tables; clean menus and condiment dispensers; polish glassware and cutlery; work surfaces, service equipment and storage areas and communicate any maintenance deficiencies. 

To perform auxiliary tasks when required, including room preparation (lighting, windows, temperature, music, food and beverage and menu display); seating of guests; accepting, recording and confirming dining reservations; and providing Room Service as necessary. 

To build repeat business through customer recognition and positive guest contact while ensuring prompt, friendly service. 

To develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of all service facilities and features of this hotel and to promote and secure sales at every available opportunity.
 
To be fully conversant and compliant at all times with emergency response standards, and to report on all incidents, accidents, near misses and safety hazards.
