The key to providing this exceptional service level is our team and we are currently considering candidates for the following leadership position: Chef Concierge Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will consistently provide a warm welcome and exceptional service to our guests and provide leadership to our team of Bell, Valet and Door Persons at The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): Have an in-depth knowledge of hotel occupancy and events, in conjunction with our partner, Chop Steakhouse and Bar, The Nova Centre and the City of Halifax. This integral role is responsible for scheduling, support, training and development of the team. Our Chef Concierge must be up-to-date on current events, festivals, music, bars, pubs and restaurants, information on theatre/art, shopping, etc. in the city and special events/functions and city- wide groups in the area. Will lead by example in assisting guests and exceeding expectations, both over the telephone and at the Concierge Desk. Must be able to multitask with various requests, coordinate the check in and check out, transportation, luggage storage, key security and package/mail delivery, dry cleaning, shoe service and travel arrangements. Will assist with emergency response as required. Qualifications: This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Concierge who is professional, energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individual, with a minimum 5 years previous customer service experience. The successful candidate must have proven, exceptional guest service and communication (both verbal and written) skills, and strong attention to detail and interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Must have an excellent knowledge of HRM. Flexibility in shifts is essential, and must have a valid driver’s license with a clean abstract. Position requires continuous standing and walking throughout the shift. Strong knowledge of computer systems required, OPERA (or similar) and additional languages are an asset.
