The Laundry Supervisor position is an excellent opportunity to utilize knowledge and practice leadership and supervisory skills in the areas of communication, effective use of time management and quality control.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Lead and create a positive, engaged work environment through teamwork & cooperation with the Laundry team.
- Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.
- Coordinate cleaning order of linen and terry to meet business volumes and a timely cleaning of rewash.
- Quality control and proper tracking of discarded linen.
- Weigh laundry loads; program, load, and unload washers and dryers.
- Fold, sort, and deliver clean linens.
- General care of equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe conditions.
- Answer telephone calls in Laundry Department.
- Use and maintain cleaning products, materials, and equipment safely and correctly.
- Assist in regular coaching sessions with team members regarding performance & standards of behavior and Employee Development Reviews.
- Assist with scheduling/productivity and payroll.
- Coordinate and actively participate with monthly inventories and establishing and evaluating par stocks.
- Assist with the Skills Training process.
- Act as a liaison with Food & Beverage departments to determine daily linen requests.
- Act as a liaison with Housekeeping and Laundry Attendants to determine daily linen requests.
- Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment
- Proven positive interaction skills
- Previous supervisory experience an asset; previous experience in Housekeeping an asset
- Previous experience using Word and Excel programs an asset
- Must be capable of handling a physically demanding workload, including but not limited to, lifting 25-50 lbs. at one time, pushing carts, standing for long periods of time, bending, stretching, and enduring repetitive movements involving arms, shoulders, back, and wrists
Class 5 drivers license a requirement and must be willing to drive the Laundry truck
Reliable and flexible to work various shift schedules (including afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends & holidays)
