| GENERAL OVERVIEW The Laundry team is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the hotels’ linens. This is an excellent front-line position for someone looking to start a career in the hotel industry. Reporting directly to the Laundry Production Manager, the primary areas of focus for this position include: RESPONSIBILITIES: • Embrace Delta’s Vision, Mission, and Values; demonstrate brand standards. • Exceed expectations of guests/ employees by responding politely and efficiently to all requests. • Help create a positive, work environment through teamwork & cooperation with peers and leaders. • Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner. • Weigh laundry loads. • Program, load and unload the washers and dryers. • Fold, sort and deliver clean linens. • General care of equipment; report any malfunctioning equipment or unsafe conditions. • Answer telephone calls in Laundry Department. • Use and maintain cleaning products, materials, and equipment safely and correctly. • Assist with linen inventory and record processed linens. • Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings. QUALIFICATIONS, ABILITIES, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES • High level of attention to detail and energy. • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast paced environment • Proven positive interaction skills • Must be capable of handling a physically demanding workload, including but not limited to, lifting 25-50 lbs. at one time, pushing carts, standing for long periods of time, bending, stretching, and enduring repetitive movements involving arms, shoulders, back, and wrists • Must be available to work various shift schedules; this will include afternoons, evenings, overnights, weekends & holidays • A class 5 driver’s license is a definite asset. | ||||||||
