~~The Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre Halifax is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of a full time Night Auditor/ Guest Service Agent. Shift would consist of 2 or 3 GSA shifts per week and 2 Night Audit Shifts per week.

The Four Points by Sheraton is a four star hotel that offers a great employment package including travel benefits and a competitive wage. Responsibilities: • Provide all guests, both in person and on the phone, with a sense of hospitality and help to maintain this feeling throughout their stay. • Check all guests into the hotel in a prompt manner utilizing the Starwood ‘Welcome’ process. • Check out guests utilizing the Starwood ‘Farewell’ process, ensuring that everything went as smoothly as possible during their stay and asking if guests require any future reservations. • During reservation, attempt to maximize room revenue through upselling and/or cross-selling techniques. • Perform services for guests as required - deliveries, handling of complaints in the absence of a Manager, etc. • Take immediate and positive action within the guidelines provided in the event of emergency alarm or situation of any nature. Employees are expected to maintain full knowledge of fire and safety procedures. • Completion of closing tasks such as balancing at end of shift, checklist of completed duties, entering pertinent information into logbook and passing on information to the next shift. • Assuming responsibility of the safety and security of all registered guests during the hours of 11pm and 7am and monitoring the following areas of the hotel: pool, fitness center, vending areas, and parking lot. • Setting wake-up calls on the switchboard phone system. • Running daily credit card transactions through the nightly settlement process. • Recording accurate daily revenue totals in hotel created spreadsheets. • Generating automated accounting reports for the manager's review. • Running the computer’s back-up systems. Requirements & Qualifications: • MUST be able and willing to work weekday, weekend, and holiday overnight shifts, understanding that coverage of day shifts may be required as needed based on staffing levels. • Computer and typing skills with acceptable knowledge of Microsoft Excel. • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills, professional telephone manner and presentation. • A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required. • Enrollment in or completion of a Hospitality Management course is preferred but not required.
