Reporting to the Operations Manager, our Banquet Servers provide professional, attentive and efficient service to all our guests attending functions at Oceanstone. This position requires a flexible schedule that includes weekends and evenings.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Ensure guest absolute satisfaction pertaining to food and beverage service
  • Completing pre-meal prep such as water, coffee, cutlery
  • Serving all aspects of function including passed reception items, full course dinner service and wine service.
  • General cleaning/clearing duties as assigned
  • Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently and politely to all requests
  • Help create a positive work environment, through teamwork and cooperation with peers.
  • Contributes to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and working in a safe manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager
 
Preferred Qualifications:
 
·         Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in the Province of Nova Scotia
·         Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment with minimal direction
·         Excellent communication and organization skills
·         Ability to multi task and prioritize while providing excellent customer service
·         Knowledge of safe food and beverage handling procedures
  • Positive, professional demeanor
  • Must be able to physically lift a large banquet tray
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
