GENERAL OVERVIEW
This front-line position is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer focus who is looking to start a career in the hotel industry.   Our colleagues work to provide the highest level of service in a knowledgeable, professional manner while striving constantly to exceed guest expectations of our service.

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Embrace all Delta Hotels Rooms Standards and Delta’s Vision, Mission, and Brand Values.
  • Exceed the expectations of all guests (both internal and external) through empowerment and by responding attentively, efficiently, and politely to all requests.
  • Help create a positive work environment through teamwork and cooperation with peers and team leaders.
  • Actively participate in monthly departmental communication meetings.
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by reporting all safety hazards, following WHMIS and Fire Safety training, and working in a safe manner.
  • Welcome guests at the entrance to the hotel.
  • Process guest arrivals and departures.
  • Escort guests to their room, explain hotel amenities, and handle guest inquiries.
  • Valet – park and retrieve guest vehicles.
  • Snow shoveling and salting of guest areas as required
  • Provide information about the hotel and city attractions.
  • Guest room deliveries.
  • Accept responsibility for and own the lobby.
  • Other duties as assigned.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive both standard and automatic vehicles. 
  • A friendly and enthusiastic individual with a neat professional appearance.
  • Demonstrates exceptional guest service skills with a passion to continually anticipate and exceed guest expectations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; able to handle a large volume of inquiries and guests at one time.
  • Able to stand for long periods at a time and lift objects in excess of 50lbs.
  • Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the Halifax area and activities throughout the region.
  • Bilingualism is an asset.
  • Reliable and flexible; available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.  Split shifts may also be assigned.
  • Will be required to provide a driver’s abstract.
        Hours and shifts will vary according to occupancy levels.
