Job Description
Scanway Catering is looking for a professional and enthusiastic barista/supervisor to work at our bakery, cafe and storefront location in downtown Halifax.
The successful candidate will have previous experience working as a barista in a supervisory role, have a genuine love for coffee, and outstanding customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise the other baristas and customer service team members.
- Scheduling of staff.
- Opening and/or closing duties.
- Greet guests with enthusiasm, sincerity and professionalism.
- Taking and filling coffee and tea or other hot beverage orders.
- Taking and filling customer orders for bakery and pastry items.
- Fulfilling customer requests and answering questions about menu items.
- Full and comprehensive knowledge of the menu and bakery/catering items available for order.
- A strong commitment to maintaining and promoting Scanway standards and policies with respect to presentation, quality, service and product
- Foster a team atmosphere with all members of service and culinary staff which will assure the enjoyment of guests and the development of repeat business.
- Taking pride in restaurant cleanliness and personal grooming/appearance.
- Be a team player, keep up team morale.
Duties:
- Deliver excellent customer service, at all times.
- Practice outstanding customer relations in the development of repeat business and increased sales.
- Establish team rapport, projects a positive attitude, and leads by example to create a superior guest satisfaction and an enjoyable work atmosphere.
- Utilize P.O.S. system efficiently, accurately and effectively at all times when placing orders.
- Serve and present hot non-alcoholic beverages quickly and efficiently, meeting our standards.
- Assist in keeping front-of-house clean and organized.
- Keep up to date with current promotions and new products.
- Make customers aware of offers on our great food and drink offering.
- Speak to customers to ensure that they are satisfied with their beverages.
- Other duties as required by supervisor or manager.
