Job Description:

Reporting to the General Manager and Director of Sales, as Sales Manager at the The Hollis Halifax – a DoubleTree Suites by Hilton you will be responsible for generating leads and maintaining client relationships within all hotel market segments. You will be someone who is both highly proactive and reactive and have a strong ability to provide a seamless customer service approach, while providing advice and guidance throughout the entire sales process from first point of contact to post event/business follow up. Throughout all of this you will strive to always achieve the highest level of guest satisfaction, so as to ensure repeat business and maximum hotel revenue potential.
  • Actively prospect and qualify new business for hotel, including but not limited to: new preferred accounts, group business and small meeting business. Solicitation will come from prospecting phone calls and outside sales calls, site visits, sales blitzes and tradeshows. Solicitation may also include joint efforts and cross selling of our other two area hotels, as determined by the Director of Sales.
  • Monitor and handle inquiry calls and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
  • Show banquet rooms and guest rooms to all prospective clients.
  • Solicit and maintain ongoing contact with all active accounts in an effort to promote repeat business
  • Follow up with guests regularly during and after departure to ensure satisfaction. Feedback should be tracked and forwarded to DOS on weekly basis.
  • Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures
  • Complete RFP’s in timely manner; working closely with other Sales team members to maximize hotel revenues
  • Research and/or have knowledge of the local competition and assess general market conditions.
  • Complete weekly and month reports as required.
  • Preparation of proposals, contracts and block space, and follow up with regard to room block.
  • Prospecting new customers and target lists, coordination of sales blitzes, and client service events.
  • Coordinating and conducting site inspections, local sales calls and client prospecting.
  • Managing Sales database (OnQ/Delphi)
  • Proactively prospect and solicit new and repeat business using appropriate selling techniques
  • Assisting Director of Sales in strategic planning of budgets and programs including; advertising, public/media relations, local marketing, sales promotions, event marketing and collateral development.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
 
Job Requirements:
  • Professional attitude and appearance
  • Able to work flexible hours and weekends when required
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience, preferably in a full service property
  • Superior written and spoken communications skills
  • Outstanding abilities to build and maintain relationships.
  • Excellent time management with the ability to re-prioritize on a continual basis
  • Guest oriented, pleasant personality, positive attitude and disposition;
  • Proven sales ability
  • Excellent Computer Skills and must be proficient with MS Office
  • Continually striving to create new contacts and clients through industry networking
  • Preference will be given to those with Delphi, Opera and OnQ experience
