Scanway Catering is looking for a professional server who is passionate about local food!
JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose: To provide professional, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient food and beverage service to customers.
Please note this job is serving on a patio and is seasonal, weather-depending. Part time hours are available.
Major Responsibilities:
· Greet guests with enthusiasm, sincerity and professionalism.
· Taking and filling food & beverage orders.
· Fulfilling customer requests and answering questions about menu items.
· A strong commitment to maintaining and promoting Scanway standards and policies with respect to presentation, quality, service and product
· Foster a team atmosphere with all members of service and culinary staff which will assure the enjoyment of guests and the development of repeat business.
· Taking pride in restaurant cleanliness and personal grooming/appearance.
· Meet company guidelines and ensure responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
Key Activity Areas:
· Preparing for shift with the appropriate cash float, supply of note pads, pens, and corkscrew.
· Ensure the knowledge of any out of stock items prior to service.
· Ensure proper telephone and reservation procedures are adhered to (if required).
· Inform guests of special features, promotions, daily specials, special offers. (If required)
· Practice outstanding customer relations in the development of repeat business and increased sales
· Establish team rapport, projects a positive attitude, and leads by example to create a superior guest satisfaction and an enjoyable work atmosphere
· Utilize P.O.S. system efficiently, accurately and effectively at all times when placing orders
· Recommend beverages that complement the guest’s meal.
· Inquire at appropriate intervals if the guest is satisfied with the meal, drinks, service, etc., and act accordingly to correct any problems.
· Ensure tables are cleared and cleaned promptly and discreetly in accordance with service standards
· Treat all objects and tools handled with respect and care thus avoiding breakage, loss and waste.
Perform all side duties as required to ensure adequate par-stock levels are maintained and adhered to
· Ensure all assigned daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning procedures are performed and adhered to
- Attend staff meetings as required.
- Perform any other duties as required assigned by the owner or floor manager.
Requirements:
· Food and Beverage serving experience (minimum one year)
ServSafe and Responsible Beverage certifications an asset.
· Strong communication and organizational skills
· Positive, professional attitude and presentation
· Enthusiastic and well spoken
