SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Scanway Catering is looking for a professional, customer service-oriented Food Runner/Food Counter Attendant for our new bakery and cafe location. This position would require greeting clients, helping clients choose food items from the counter, packaging items to go, ringing in customers, and running food from the kitchen to guests eating in the cafe.

The successful candidate will have excellent people and customer recovery skills, maintaining proper service standards at all times. He or she will be knowledgable on Scanway products and services of both the pastry shop and catering offered by the company. The Food Runner/Food Counter Attendant will help keep the storefront clean, tidy and organized at all times, and work with the cashier closely to help ensure the desk is stocked with appropriate inventory.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

* Serve food items ordered by customers eating in the cafe.
*Ring in customers at POS.
*Fulfilling customer requests and answering questions about menu items.
*A strong commitment to maintaining and promoting Scanway standards and policies with respect to presentation, quality, service and product
•     Thorough understanding of items in pastry shop, including prices
•     Ensure levels of pastry inventory are maintained
•     Maintain a clean and presentable work environment
•     Uniform/appearance to be clean and presentable at all times
•     Work with closely with cashier to ensure all of client needs are met.
All other reasonable requests that are made by direct supervisor (owner). 
Ensure Health & Safety standards are complied with at all times.
•     Foster a team environment at all times with coworkers, culinary staff and service staff.
*Taking pride in restaurant cleanliness and personal grooming/appearance.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
 
•     High school diploma or equivalency.
•     High energy with exceptional organization and communication skills.
•     High degree of professionalism.
•     Must be able to work independently and maintain a positive attitude within a very busy environment.
•     Team player.
•     Knowledge of food, pastries and cakes a huge asset.
•     Additional hospitality training (SuperHost, ServSafe, etc) considered an asset.
