Senior Housekeeping Supervisor

Term Position until December 2013


The Senior Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Housekeeping team in setting direction, achieving Housekeeping goals and managing the Housekeeping departmental operations. 



·         Ensure quality cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, employee areas in a timely, efficient manner

·         Provide leadership for the Housekeeping team and leading by example

·         Ensure high morale and productivity levels through staff planning, training, development

·         Ensure ongoing communications including coaching sessions, performance management, including full use of the Talent Management System (30 day pulse checks, annual & 90 day reviews, stay interviews and IDP’s)

·         Work closely with the Skills Trainers to ensure all employees receive continuous learning & training

·         Focus on consistent delivery of Delta’s Vision, Mission, and Values by all Housekeeping team members

·         Promote hotel policies and procedures;  support internal networks i.e. Health & Safety, Delta Greens

·         General administrative support:  Lost and Found,  payroll, scheduling, ordering, inventories

·         Working closely with other departments to ensure exceptional service



·         Previous supervisory experience is required

·         Must be approachable, open-minded and possess excellent listening skills

·         Must possess the skills to quickly, tactfully resolve and defuse guest and/or employee concerns and ensure the appropriate follow up is carried out

·         Proven ability to effectively handle stressful situations, be receptive to change and increased demands

·         Demonstrated ability to train, motivate and develop team members through own experience and passion for customer service

·         High level of attention to detail

·         Strong organization skills, ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in a fast paced environment

·         Reliable and flexible to work various shift schedules

·         Proven positive interaction skills

·         Sound knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel and property management systems (OPERA an asset) 

·         Post Secondary diploma/degree in Hospitality Management program or related discipline an asset


HOURS OF WORK:           Full-time – including days, evenings, weekends, & holiday shifts
